Educational Technology & Computer Science

SCOE’s Digital Learning and Computer Science team delivers high-quality instructional technology and computer science services for K–12 educators and students in Sacramento County and across California.

Mentoring Programs

SCOE’s College & Career Readiness Mentoring Programs are grounded in a vision for relationship‑centered schools where all youth have access to a web of relationship support from caring adults and peers across educational settings, including in-school and after-school environments, that build their social capital to promote their pursuit of their passions, skills and interests, enable their access to and exploration of spaces where these can be pursued, and help them overcome personal and/or institutional obstacles.

Multilingual Learner Supports

SCOE’s Multilingual Learner Services provides instructional practices and resources that help students participate fully and confidently in the classroom. With SCOE students speaking more than two dozen languages, the program focuses on understanding the factors that influence Multilingual Learners’ success and offering approaches such as intentional literacy instruction and culturally informed teaching that strengthen their educational experience. By recognizing the unique backgrounds and language skills students bring, the program helps ensure they have the tools, instruction, and support necessary to succeed academically.

School Counselor Network

SCOE’s School Counselor Network brings together school counselors from across the region to collaborate, access resources, and participate in professional learning that strengthens support for students’ academic, social‑emotional, and college‑and‑career readiness needs. The network offers ongoing opportunities for connection and development, including upcoming events such as the annual Counselor Spring Institute, which provides dedicated time for learning, sharing best practices, and enhancing counseling programs. Through this collaborative community, counselors gain tools, guidance, and shared expertise to help them better serve students and navigate the evolving needs of their school communities.

Strong Workforce Virtual Career Pathways

SCOE’s Strong Workforce Virtual Career Pathways program expands access to high‑quality Career Technical Education by offering online, asynchronous courses to students in alternative education settings throughout the region who may not otherwise have access to these opportunities. Students can explore career pathways at their own pace, gain valuable skills, and participate at no cost.
