Trustee Penny Schwinn Has Resigned

Area 5 Trustee Penny Schwinn resigned effective July 3, 2013.

County Board of Education Trustee Penny Schwinn​​ will resign effective July 3, 2013.

Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools David W. Gordon is announcing that County Board of Education Trustee Penny Schwinn has resigned from her post as Trustee of Area 5, effective July 3, 2013. Her term was scheduled to expire in June 2016.

According to the bylaws of the Sacramento County Board of Education, within 20 days of the filing of the resignation, the Board shall consider the matter of filling the vacancy.

When a Board member resigns with four or more months remaining in his or her term, the Board shall either order an election or make a provisional appointment to fill the vacancy within 60 days of the filing of the resignation.

Area 5 represents the communities of Alder Creek, Bridge House, Folsom, Gold River, Mather, Mills, Natoma, Nimbus, Rancho Cordova, Rancho Murieta, Rosemont, Sloughhouse, Walsh Station, and a portion of Vineyard. School districts: small portions of Elk Grove Unified, Sacramento City Unified, San Juan Unified, and all of Folsom Cordova Unified.
