River Delta Unified Launches Search for New Superintendent

The River Delta Unified School District has requested assistance from the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) in the search for a district superintendent. David W. Gordon, Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools, has been designated a Board Advisor for this process.

The River Delta Unified School District is a K-12 district with an enrollment of 2,040. The district is located along the Sacramento River within three counties: Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo. The district office is located in Rio Vista which is 45 miles northeast of San Francisco and 35 miles southwest of Sacramento. River Delta Unified has eight small schools: four elementary schools; two middle schools; and two high schools serving the communities of Clarksburg, Hood, Courtland, Walnut Grove, Ryde, Locke, Isleton, Rio Vista, Birds Landing, and Collinsville.

Candidates with the highest rankings will be interviewed by the Governing Board. The Board may conduct a community visit prior to final selection, gathering additional information regarding leadership style and work relationships.

The deadline to apply is March 29, 2013. Applications will be screened by a selected committee authorized by this entity and the River Delta Unified Board of Trustees. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for early May.
