The Elverta Joint School District has requested the assistance of the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) in the search for a district superintendent. Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools David W. Gordon has been designated to serve as Board Advisor in this process.

The Elverta School District is a K-8 district with an enrollment of 277. Currently, the district has two schools located at one site. Elverta Elementary School serves students in grades K-5 and has an API of 833. Alpha Technology Middle School serves students in grades 6-8 and has an API of 819. A strong intramural sports program is supported by the district and community. The dedicated teachers and staff are devoted to the instruction of the students and work to create a positive and safe learning environment. Parent involvement and broad-based community support make the Elverta School District unique.

Elverta's family-oriented culture and small size allows for personalized communication. The community is comprised of individuals from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.

Candidates with the highest rankings will be interviewed by the district's Governing Board. Candidates should note that the Board may conduct a community visit prior to final selection to gather additional information regarding leadership style and work relationships.

The deadline to apply is April 29, 2011. Applications will be screened by a selection committee authorized by this entity and the Elverta Joint School District Board of Trustees. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for early June.
