Sacramento County Office of Education

Sacramento County Office of Education

Through cross-sector partnerships, research-informed strategies, and regional leadership, SCOE works to strengthen schools as anchors of opportunity and stability for children, families, and communities. This page highlights select initiatives that reflect that commitment—where collaboration meets implementation, and where data informs action. It also serves as a repository for published reports and research that reference, evaluate, or are produced by SCOE. These efforts illustrate a focused approach: supporting the whole child, strengthening instructional practice, and building pathways into the education workforce—so that every learner has access to stability, mobility, and long-term success.

Featured SCOE Initiatives

Schools as Centers of Wellness

SCOE has partnered with the Sacramento County Department of Health Services to place licensed mental health clinicians in county schools, transforming schools into “Centers of Wellness.” School-Based Mental Health and Wellness clinicians provide direct mental health services and coordinate with school staff to integrate social–emotional and relationship-building strategies into schools and communities aspiring to reduce suspensions and chronic absenteeism, and to improve academic achievement, early intervention, and prevention approaches.
