Medication
If your child takes prescription or non-prescription medication,
please obtain a doctors signature. Sometimes it is easier
to call the doctor and have them fax the authorization to
the school. Also be sure that you sign the medication section
of the Sly Park emergency form.
Outdoor Hiking Information
We advise all students to bring a refillable water bottle,
sunscreen and mosquito repellant. Using these items during
the week will help students have a more pleasant and safe
week.
Supervision/Safety Information
The teachers from the participating schools, including teachers from your
child’s school, will be in residence at Sly Park. Each student cabin will have
adult chaperones and often a mature high school cabin leader. All cabin
leaders and chaperones are under the direct supervision of the teachers and
Sly Park principal. In addition to the Sly Park
principal, Sly Park teachers, and teachers from the
students’ schools, other Sly Park staff members on
campus are cooks, cafeteria assistants, office staff, and maintenance workers. All Sly Park
staff are fingerprinted and are trained in first aid and
CPR. Several of the Sly Park teachers have an
additional certification in Wilderness First Aid.
