Designated Subjects Credentials
The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) approved Local Education Agency (LEA). As an LEA we review Designated Subjects Credential Applications and recommend applicants to the CTC for granting of the credential.

Types of Designated Subjects Credentials
- Adult Education
Allows instruction in some career and academic courses organized primarily for adults. Refer to the link above for a list of subjects. - Career Technical Education (CTE)
Allows CTE instruction (such as ROP) in the following career fields for grades twelve and below and in classes organized primarily for adults:- Agriculture and Natural Resources
- Arts, Media, and Entertainment
- Building Trades and Construction
- Education, Child Development, and Family Services
- Energy and Utilities
- Engineering and Design
- Fashion and Interior Design
- Finance and Business
- Health Science and Medical Technology
- Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation
- Information Technology
- Manufacturing and Product Development
- Marketing, Sales, and Service
- Public Service
- Transportation
- Emergency Vocational Education 30-Day Substitute
Allows service as a substitute in career technical classes for grades twelve and below and in classes organized primarily for adults - Special Subjects
Allows instruction in the following subject areas for grades twelve and below and in classes organized primarily for adults:- Aviation Flight Instruction
- Aviation Ground Instruction
- Basic Military Drill
- Driver Education and Training
- Limited Driver Training
- Reserve Officers Training Corps
- Supervision and Coordination
Allows holder to supervise and coordinate subjects and classes in all types of designated subjects programs
