SCOE Announces Substitute Recruitment Day
In an effort to recruit prospective candidates interested in employment opportunities in the education field, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is hosting a Substitute Recruitment Day.
The day-long recruitment event will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at the County Office's David P. Meaney Education Center, located at 10474 Mather Boulevard in Mather (adjacent to Mather Field in the Rancho Cordova area). The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning with a 90-minute information session 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Driving directions and maps are available online.
"We are always looking for quality substitute teachers and para-educators," said David W. Gordon, Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools. "We want qualified candidates to realize that substitute opportunities at SCOE often lead to full-time employment."
Prospective substitute teacher and para-educator applicants will be able to take advantage of on-site interviews and testing, as well as meet with recruiters from various SCOE programs, including:
- Community Schools,
- Juvenile Court Schools,
- Special Education for Emotionally Disturbed, and
- Special Education for Severely Handicapped Students.
Teachers must have a B.A. degree and have passed the CBEST. Para-educators must have a high school diploma. Applicants must bring copies of their resume, diplomas and credentials.
Pre-registration is available but walk-ins are welcome.
For more information call (916) 228-2332 or download the Recruitment Day flyer. Information about SCOE employment opportunities is available at www.scoe.net/jobs.
