Jonathan Rhodea, Curriculum Specialist
The K–12 Science Department assists districts, schools, teachers, students, and parents with science curriculum and instruction. This department supports students and educators with robust hands-on science experiences. By inspiring educational leaders to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, supported by the California Common Core State Standards and the recently adopted California Science Standards, we hope to equip the leaders of tomorrow with a rich appreciation of how STEM impacts our everyday lives.
This department collaborates with regional science and engineering projects, including the American River Parkway Foundation, Resource Area for Teaching Science (RAFT), Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), the Powerhouse Science Center, Army Corps of Engineers, UC Davis, California State University Sacramento, California Department of Education (CDE), and other community stakeholders working to promote a strong science and engineering culture in area schools.
