Sacramento County Office of Education

Seeds of Partnership, a project funded by the California Department of Education’s Special Education Division and supported through the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE), provides support, statewide training, technical assistance, and resource development to strengthen family engagement and partnership, early learning, secondary transition, youth leadership and self-advocacy, and statewide coordinated support to the California Family Empowerment Centers.

Seeds of Partnership offers educators, administrators, families, and community partners a resource hub and collection of tools, including family support information, professional learning resources, parent input, compliance improvement monitoring support, and virtual early learning environments to help improve outcomes for children and young adults with disabilities. The project is part of California’s Statewide System of Support and focuses on key activities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), State Performance Plan initiatives. Additional contact information is available on the Seeds of Partnership website.

Family Empowerment Centers

They offer training, peer-to-peer support, information, resources, and support with referrals and services to help parents better understand their child’s educational and developmental needs, navigate the Individual Education Program (IEP) process, access community supports, and promote positive relationships and effective communication with professionals. Use the online tool to find a local parent center by county or region within CA. Seeds of Partnership provides coordinated statewide technical assistance and support to the Family Empowerment Centers.
