It takes a network of dedicated educators and support staff to help students thrive in school. These professionals make learning possible through a daily commitment to make sure classrooms are safe and effective learning environments. Honoring these talented individuals recognizes their impact and strengthens a culture of excellence and appreciation across Sacramento County schools.
Last Saturday, October 4, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) partnered with the Sacramento Republic FC and SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union to celebrate the Sacramento County Classified School Employees of the Year 2025 and the Teachers of the Year 2026. Originally planned for Sunday, the ceremony was moved up a day as the Sac Republic advanced to the United Soccer League (USL) Jägermeister Cup Final, drawing a sellout crowd at Heart Health Park in Sacramento.
The celebration kicked off with a catered tailgate reception featuring burgers, snacks, and refreshments. Guests enjoyed connecting with fellow educators and their families, joining each other for fun games before the match. As the sun set, honorees took to the soccer field for a recognition ceremony, where they were celebrated in front of thousands of fans for their dedication and service to students across Sacramento County.
The educators and support professionals being honored—bus drivers, school safety specialists, nutrition staff, custodians, office assistants, counselors, facilities staff, and teachers—represent the heart of local schools. They ensure classrooms run smoothly and students feel seen, supported, and inspired every day.
The Sacramento Republic FC secured its playoff spot despite a 1–0 loss, marking its 11th postseason appearance in 12 seasons—and fans (including a strong showing from Sacramento’s education community) continue to stand proudly behind them.
SCOE extends heartfelt thanks to SchoolsFirst for its ongoing sponsorship of these important recognition programs, and to the Sac Republic for championing educators by hosting this memorable night. The partnerships reflect a shared commitment to education, teamwork, and community—on the field and in every classroom.
