With Resolution No. 25-11, the Sacramento County Board of Education joins education agencies statewide in emphasizing that schools are places of inclusion, protection, and opportunity for all.

At its July 15 meeting, the Sacramento County Board of Education adopted Resolution No. 25-11, declaring that schools are places of inclusion, protection, and opportunity for every learner—regardless of immigration status. It reflects the values laid out in the statement on safe learning environments published by the Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools earlier this year, affirming that all students have the right to a safe, inclusive, and equitable education.

With this resolution, SCOE joins education agencies across California in asserting that immigration status should not be a barrier to public education. “We remain committed to fostering schools where every child feels safe and valued, and has the opportunity to learn,” said County Superintendent David W. Gordon.
