Two-Year Program Offers Paid Classroom Work While Earning Credential

Earn your credential while serving as a paid, full-time classroom teacher

The “Teaching” division of the SCOE School of Education will offer information about its two-year Teacher Intern Program at a webinar on November 8.

Think about the best teachers you’ve had: they’re sharp, encouraging, engaging, and inspiring. They communicate well, listen, and care. They’re passionate about what they do and genuinely want all their students to succeed.

The Teacher Intern Program, operated by the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE), is looking for exactly these types of dedicated people who dream of empowering students through a career in teaching. If you’re a recent university graduate or a professional who is looking to make a career change, sign up to attend an informational webinar on November 8, 2022, and learn about what the SCOE School of Education has to offer.

About the Program

The Teacher Intern Program, approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), is an intensive, two-year program that’s an excellent option for recent college graduates or professionals seeking a rewarding second career as a teacher. The program is recruiting for its next cohort, which will start in the 2023–24 school year. Space is limited!

After completing a five-month pre-service program, candidates can get started as full-time teacher interns. They start earning a salary, benefits, and retirement credits for their classroom work as they’re earning their credential. The interns receive outstanding support throughout the whole process, working closely with an on-site mentor and receiving ongoing coaching from SCOE supervisors and faculty from the SCOE School of Education.
