Writing Program Helps Students Become Published Authors

916 Ink Helps Students Express Themselves

Student reading book

Longtime Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) partner 916 Ink provides literacy tutoring for struggling readers, along with creative writing workshops for English language instruction at schools across the county. The nonprofit organization serves students in first through 12th grades, including students enrolled in SCOE’s Juvenile Court School and Community School programs.

The 12-week creative writing program helps students express themselves through writing and become published authors with writing being published in an anthology, complete with an ISBN number.

Since 2010, the nonprofit has transformed thousands of Sacramento students into published authors.
