Sacramento County educators took the spotlight at the Golden 1 Center on Sunday as thousands of fans cheered for District Teachers of the Year 2022 during halftime at the Sacramento Kings/Phoenix Suns game.
The teachers were joined on-court by County Superintendent of Schools David W. Gordon and were presented with personalized Kings jerseys emblazoned with the number “22,” representing the year they were honored.
The “Salute to Educators” halftime celebration was part of the Kings Foundation’s “Impact” series, meant to create awareness and positive change. The organization commits resources to health, education, and sustainability-focused organizations.
