2018–19 Financial Aid Workshops for Students

Sacramento Cal-SOAP Consortium Coordinates Local Events

Cash for College 'Tickets'
The deadline to submit FAFSA or Dream Act applications is March 2, 2019. Cash for College workshops offer help completing financial aid forms and scholarship applications.

Do you—or a student you know—need money for college? How about help filling out all those financial aid forms? If so, consider attending one of the free Cash for College workshops being held in the Sacramento region. Trained volunteers will be on-hand to help students and their families file for state and federal financial aid, including FAFSA, Dream Act, and Chafee Grant applications.

The workshops for Sacramento County students are sponsored by the California Student Aid Commission. The Sacramento Cal-SOAP Consortium (California Student Opportunity Access Program) at the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is the local coordinator and directly serves students in 55 elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Sacramento County.

A Cash for College workshop flyer with a checklist of materials students need to bring is available. The Cal-SOAP Student Resources page also offers links to other financial aid and college admissions resources.
