Student Art Show Kicks off Youth Arts Education Month

​On March 18th, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) hosted an awards presentation and exhibit reception for art students from throughout the county.

Nearly 70 pieces of artwork were submitted. Each entrant received a certificate for their participation.

The exhibit, part of the celebration of Youth Arts Month, was sponsored by the Sacramento County Office of Education in conjunction with the California Arts Education Association
(CAEA). Students and teachers received certificates commemorating their participation in the art show.

Schools that participated in the 2008 Sacramento County Office of Education Arts Education Month art show included:

  • Carson Creek High School (Sacramento County Office of Education)
  • Sheldon High School (Elk Grove Unified School District)
  • Galt High School (Galt Joint Union High School District)
  • McClatchy High School (Sacramento City Unified School District)
  • Grant High School (Grant Joint Union High School District)
  • Inderkum High School (Natomas Unified School District)
  • Mira Loma High School (San Juan Unified School District)
  • LeGette Elementary School (San Juan Unified School District)
  • Ottoman Elementary School (San Juan Unified School District)
  • Carmichael Elementary School (San Juan Unified School District)
  • Robla Elementary School (Robla School District)

The colorful art display will be available for public viewing at SCOE's David P. Meaney Education Center [maps and directions] during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) through May.
