Students from 16 Sacramento County middle schools will team up March 18 to present one of the most entertaining nights of the year: the 8th Annual Club Live Countywide Lip Sync Competition. The fast and fun event takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Crest Theater, 1013 K Street, in downtown Sacramento. Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students. Tickets are available at the door.

Coordinated by the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE), the Club Live Lip Sync Competition features 70 students ranging in age from 12 to 14 years dancing and "singing" to the latest tunes. Schools throughout Sacramento County recently held their own Lip Sync Competitions, and each school is sending its top-scoring team to perform in the March 18 event. Prizes will be provided by Coca-Cola, local merchants, and community members.

Club Live, the middle school counterpart of the acclaimed Friday Night Live program for high school students, provides opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills, build positive peer and adult relationships and become involved as active leaders and resources in their schools and communities. Club Live is operated by SCOE's Prevention and Student Services Department.
