Lynette Lyons (right), Program Manager of the WIND Youth Center, met with CSAM participants on May 31 to accept the donation of 76 pounds of peanut butter and to tell the students about the services her nonprofit organization provides to homeless teenagers. Students received certificates recognizing their contributions to the community service project.

Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) students made a presentation of almost 80 pounds of peanut butter to the WIND Youth Center, which will distribute the food to homeless young persons.

Dozens of jars of peanut butter were collected by the students as a service project of their Community Schools Academic Mentor (CSAM) Program. Students, in partnership with their adult mentors, made posters and donation boxes, as well as collecting contributions of peanut butter.
