Credential Services Unit


The Credentials Services Unit provides licensing expertise to the 13 school districts in Sacramento County. The department provides assistance in the analysis and processing of applications for credentials, certificates, and permits; issues temporary county certificates; responds to general credentialing information inquiries; and serves as a liaison between the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and the districts and programs of the County.

The Credentials Unit is also mandated by law to audit teacher assignments, register and certify the credentials, certificates, and permits held or applied for by all certificated personnel employed in the County's school districts and Career Technical Education programs, and report those findings to CTC on an annual basis.
