Science (K–12)

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) Science Department assists K–12 districts, schools, teachers,  students, and parents with science curriculum and instruction. The department supports students and educators with robust hands-on science experiences. By inspiring educational leaders to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education—supported by the California Common Core State Standards and the California Science Standards—SCOE hopes to equip the leaders of tomorrow with a rich appreciation for how STEM impacts everyday lives.

The SCOE Science Department collaborates with regional science and engineering projects, including the American River Parkway Foundation, Resource Area for Teaching Science (RAFT), Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), the Powerhouse Science Center, Army Corps of Engineers, UC Davis, California State University Sacramento, California Department of Education (CDE), and other community stakeholders working to promote a strong science and engineering culture in area schools.
