County superintendents annually inspect Williams schools—those schools in the bottom one-third of the Academic Performance Index (API). During these inspections, the county superintendent determines: (1) if there are sufficient textbooks for all students, (2) whether the facilities are in good repair or if there are any emergency repairs needed, and (3) if the data reported to the parents and the community on the School Accountability Report Card (SARC) is accurate.

There are specific remedies and procedures that must be followed in the event that any problems are discovered during these inspections. The county superintendent will work closely with the school district to develop a plan to remedy any insufficiencies in textbooks and the state has provided an Emergency Repairs Grant Program to assist schools in meeting any emergency repair needs.
