The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. Mysti Miller, Program Analyst in the College and Career and Student Programs Department, is being nominated for her exceptional contributions throughout her tenure. Since joining SCOE in 2014, her outstanding graphic design and marketing expertise, rooted in industry certifications and strengthened by her business and marketing degree, has transformed the look and feel of both departments. Mysti has a unique ability to transform an idea or a simple set of notes into visually compelling and impactful materials. She consistently ensures colleagues have everything they need to confidently represent the department at events, from managing contracts and processing invoices to thoughtfully anticipating logistical needs. Mysti’s creativity is matched by her consistency as she continuously hones her craft through professional development, provides thoughtful support to staff, and brings forward fresh and innovative ideas. Mysti’s work speaks volumes about her dedication to our team, and her presence has been pivotal to the success, visibility, and overall excellence of our department’s initiatives.

Ashley Presnell, Teacher in the Student Programs and Senior Extension Department, has been a transformative force on our campus since joining SCOE in 2016. Her unwavering commitment to student success–especially for those balancing academics with the responsibilities of parenting has reshaped the way our school supports and uplifts its most vulnerable learners. Through her vision, persistence, and heart-centered leadership, Ashley has cultivated meaningful partnerships with local nonprofit organizations, opening doors to weekly classes that offer mentorship, practical guidance, and vital resources for both students and their families. Beyond these partnerships, Ashley has been a driving force behind the creation and growth of our North Area Learning Labs—welcoming, safe, and affirming spaces where students can access tutoring, build connections, and rediscover confidence in their academic abilities. Ashley’s work is guided by deep compassion, thoughtful advocacy, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every student.
