Olivia Campoverde and Osmara Contreras Gonzalez, Project Assistants, Prevention & Early Intervention, have been nominated by Coordinator Joelle Orrock, for their contributions to SCOE’s Friday Night Live/Club Live Programs. Their supervisor states that both diligently engage with students, and they possess a deep passion to serve the youth in our communities. Their enthusiasm for the programs shines through and young people and their parents have vital information and resources because of their efforts. Certificated Employee of the Month

Angel Martinez, Teacher, Alternative Education, has been nominated for Certificated Employee of the Month by Principal Barbara Modlin. Angel supports students at El Centro Jr./Sr. High School, within the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility. His supervisor says it takes a special person to work with youth who have not had much support in their lives, and Martinez embodies this. He is a wonderful teacher who makes his classroom engaging and relevant. He has a calm demeanor that instantly puts students at ease, and he takes the time to get to know the students in the limited time he has with them. He has a special skill set that makes him a valuable member of the El Centro teaching team. Angel Martinez has been a Sacramento County Office of Education employee since 2021.
