Board Recognizes April 2022 Employees of the Month

April 2022 Classified Employee of the Month Brandis Wilson and April 2022 Certificated Employee of the Month Robert Garcia were recognized by the County Board of Education.

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.

Classified Employee of the Month

Brandis Wilson, Financial Analyst in Financial Services, was nominated by Associate Superintendent Nicolas Schweizer. She started in District Fiscal Services in November 2018 as a Financial Analyst and moved over to Financial Services over a year ago. She handles budgets for various departments including School of Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and Planning and Improvement. Brandis takes pride in making sure her reporting is always completed on time and that it is thorough and accurate. With the recent increase in staff turnover, as well as the pandemic, Brandis has assumed extra duties including training new staff. Despite having a full plate, she is always willing to share her knowledge or help others without being asked. She is efficient, focused, and has a positive attitude no matter the situation. Brandis has been a SCOE employee since 2015.

Certificated Employee of the Month

Robert Garcia, Teacher at WC Riles Middle School CARE, was nominated by Director Marc Nigel for his contributions to the Alternative Education Department of the Sacramento County Office of Education. Mr. Garcia teaches Math, English, and a curriculum support class for students in seventh grade. He is phenomenal at building relationships with students. He makes sure he knows every student’s story and passion in life to help motivate them in the classroom. His classroom walls are rich with student work and engaging bulletin boards. Mr. Garcia also takes the time to work with each family, helping them navigate the school process each day.  He is very engaged with the WC Riles School staff and school community. Robert has been a SCOE employee since 2019.
