Board Recognizes March 2022 Employees of the Month

March 2022 Classified Employee of the Month Vickie Miller and March 2022 Certificated Employee of the Month Nicole Peyret were recognized by the County Board of Education.

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 650 regular and more than 950 temporary and substitute SCOE staff work year-round providing services that complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in Sacramento County. The Sacramento County Board of Education celebrates the accomplishments and exemplary service of SCOE employees through the Employees of the Month Program.

Classified Employee of the Month

Vickie Miller, Para-Educator, was nominated by Principal Lauren Roth for contributions in Craven's K–3 classroom in the Foundations Academy at Cyril Spinelli Elementary. Miller is understanding of student disabilities and will offer suggestions to best support them in the classroom. She has excellent listening skills and her interactions with students are polite and respectful of the cultural and developmental differences among them. Miller is reliable and willing to do whatever is needed to keep the class advancing. She takes pride in researching creative art projects or enrichment activities for her students. In addition, she is kind, patient, calm, and positive. She is an outstanding team player and builds relationships within the Spinelli site. Miller has been an employee of SCOE since 2001.

Certificated Employee of the Month

Nicole Peyret, Alternative Education Teacher, was nominated by Principal Craig Bradford for her contributions at North Area School in the Senior Extension Program. Peyret engages her students with compassion and fosters their desire to learn. Her classroom is a warm and inviting place for students and their families. Peyret finds creative enhancements to the curricula to keep her students engaged. She has expanded the services offered for students with disabilities. She enrolled in professional development courses to further her skills in working with our diverse population. Peyret has been a SCOE employee since 2014.
