Sacramento County Classified Employees of the Year Program

The Sacramento County Classified Employees of the Year Program acknowledges and promote the efforts of the state's outstanding classified (non-certificated, non-management) employees. Those recognized for this prestigious honor are selected for exemplary performance that contributes significantly to the success of district programs, services, and special projects.

District and SCOE staff compete in some or all of the six categories set by the California Department of Education (CDE). A selection committee—made up of representatives from the participating districts—chooses employees to represent Sacramento County at the state level. The county selection process involves paper screening and formal interviews.

Winners at the county level move on to compete at the state level. The State Superintendent of Public Instruction traditionally announces the recipients of the state awards in April and honors the state winners at a luncheon held during Classified School Employee Week.
