Education Resources During COVID-19

​Due to the school district closures related to COVID-19, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is providing a collection of resources as a public service for students, families, and school districts.

Remote Learning Resources By Subject

The SCOE Curriculum & Instruction (C&I) Services Department has developed these documents with links to resources that may be helpful for remote learning. Families and teachers are also encouraged to search extensively for resources that best fit their needs.

Virtual Field Trips

Reduced Cost/Free Internet Access

  • Charter Communications—Free Access to Wi-Fi for 60 days. To enroll, call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.
  • Comcast Internet Essentials—Cost is $9.99/mo. Internet Essentials will automatically increase speeds (from 15/2 Mbps to 25/3) for all customers in response to emergency measures associated with COVID-19. Features: no contract, no credit check, no installation fee, in-home Wi-Fi, 25 Mbps, two months free service. Once an Internet Essentials customer, there is also an option to purchase a laptop or desktop computer at a reduced price (currently $149).
  • Xfinity Wi-Fi Hotspot Access—Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots across the country will be available for free to anyone who needs them at no cost. Once at a hotspot location, consumers should join the “xfinitywifi” network from the list of available hotspots, then launch a browser.

For the latest COVID-19 information, families are encouraged to visit their local school district’s website, the SCPH webpage dedicated to COVID-19, or the CDC website. Additional reference information about COVID-19 is available on a dedicated page published on the SCOE website.
