On the first Saturday in February each year, hundreds of high school students, teachers, and community volunteers will come together at Folsom High School for the annual Sacramento County Academic Decathlon.
This premier academic competition for high school students isn't possible without the involvement of many community members volunteering to serve as proctors, judges, and in various other roles. We need your help! Here are the types of volunteers we need:
Homeroom Proctor: As a Homeroom Proctor, you will administer multiple-choice tests and monitor a room with 25 students. The report time for a short training is 7:30 a.m. and testing is competed by 3:25 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
Interview Judge: As an Interview Judge, you will be paired with two other community members and will interview students (similar to a job interview) throughout the day and score them according to a scoring guide. The report time for a short training is 7:45 a.m. and interviews are finished by 2:45 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
Speech Judge: As a Speech Judge, you will be paired with two other community members and will listen to students present speeches throughout the day and score them according to a scoring guide. The report time for a short training is 7:45 a.m. and speeches are finished by 2:45 p.m. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
Super Quiz Proctor: As a Super Quiz Proctor, you will monitor students as they take the Super Quiz test in front of an audience in the main gym. The report time for a short training is 3 p.m. The Super Quiz will end around 5:15 p.m.
