Teacher Induction Program Year at a Glance

The Teacher Induction Program year is designed to guide educators through a structured, supportive cycle of growth and professional learning. Each phase of the year, from getting started in the fall to preparing the professional growth presentation in the spring includes clear tasks, collaborative checkpoints, and ongoing coaching aligned to the California Standards for the Teaching Profession. Teacher Candidates complete 35 conversation hours with their mentor and engage in activities that build their Individualized Learning Plan, gather evidence of practice, and reflect on their progress. Mentors work alongside teachers throughout the year, offering observations, feedback, and guidance to ensure a meaningful induction experience grounded in continuous improvement and shared professional responsibility.

All tasks marked with an asterisk (*) must be completed jointly with the mentor.
