English Language Arts/ English Language Development (TK–12)
The English Language Arts/English Language Development (ELA/ELD) program is part of the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) TK–12 Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) Department. The program offers high-quality professional development, coaching, consulting, and technical assistance. Staff have expertise in California's Common Core State Standards, English Language Development Standards, and all of the State Board of Education-adopted programs.
Sacramento County READS is a countywide initiative aimed at improving literacy outcomes for all Sacramento County learners supported by the SCOE ELA/ELD program.

Sacramento County READS Vision
All learners in Sacramento County will meet yearly age- and grade-appropriate reading and literacy milestones to become proficient readers, thus allowing them to access post-secondary opportunities, employment, and fully participate in their community and our democracy.
