The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) administers BESTNet, one of California's largest internet connectivity networks for schools. BESTNet facilitates learning, communication, collaboration, and innovation among Sacramento's school districts. The network enables districts to access valuable information, and to collaborate and communicate with educational professionals worldwide. The network links 80,000 computers from 13 school districts in Sacramento County.

SCOE is also the entry point for all Sacramento County schools and districts into the California K–12 High Speed Network (K12HSN) statewide educational network backbone. SCOE has redundant 100Gbps “dark” fiber optic internet connections through K12HSN and CENIC.
