Tutor Certification
Tutors have the opportunity to be recognized for their experience and training by becoming certified. Certified tutors who move to other areas are often able to easily find work. Certification can also be an advantage for prospective teachers.
Becoming certified is easy! Submit a completed tutor portfolio containing the following:
> Verification of one semester of service
> Two tutor observations (observations of the tutor by teacher or coordinator!)
> Two samples of (the tutor's) Cornell notetaking (class and textbook)
> Four reflective writings
> Documentation of four hours of volunteer service to the program
> Documentation of completion of ~16 hours of tutor training
