The Sacramento County Academic Bowl is an academic competition held each year for Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) schools. Students compete on five member teams with two alternates.

Teams compete in two academic events centered on a theme that changes each year. The first event is a Super Quiz (jeopardy style) competition in which students answer questions based on the theme. The second event is an electronic slide presentation in which students deliver a presentation about a specific aspect of the theme using a series of slides they develop.

Awards are presented at the Academic Bowl Awards Luncheon, immediately following the Academic Bowl.

Students spend time in class and after school to prepare for this demanding competition. In addition to mastering the academic content which is based on California's content standards, students also learn about teamwork, computer and presentation skills, goal setting, and leadership.
