Mark Steven Wheat was born April 13, 1957 in Walnut Creek, CA. His parent were Amon and Viola M. Wheat. He was the youngest of four boys. Mark was in the trucking business for 17 years. When Kati was old enough to travel, she and her mother took trips with her dad and in the summer they were joined by Kaci and Kristi. They would travel to different states with him, making Mark's work more like a family vacation.
Mark was killed in his truck while traveling on Bond Road between Bader and Bradshaw Roads, when a large truck swerved over in the center line and hit him head on. Mark was buried at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery on July 16, 1996. The cemetery is next to Pleasant Grove School. Mark's four children all attended the school and his daughter Kati is now in the third grade at Pleasant Grove School. Kati's mother (Julie) is in charge of the school cafeteria.
