Caroline Wolf was married to Philip Wolf. Her husband came to the Pacific Coast in the spring of 1861. She followed and arrived in December of the same year, just before the noted flood of that year. In 1863 they moved to Sheldon and engaged in farming. She died at the age of 40 years.

Philip and Caroline had four children. Their names were:

1. Elizabeth Wolf (Urban)

2. Mary Wolf (Lighthardt)

3. Caroline Wolf (Schluckebler)

4. Philip Wolf Jr.

There is some information on Philip Wolf Jr. He was born in Keokuk, Iowa, on April 10, 1859. He went to school during his childhood learning the trade of a carpenter and joiner. After working at his trade for several years, he engaged in selling. This did not prove successful and he went back to his trade of contracting and building. The first year he built three houses, and the next year he built 36 houses. Some of these homes were the most attractive in the whole city of Sacramento.
