GEORGE W. MAXFIELD

(Born: March 1850; Died: January 2, 1892)

George W. Maxfield Jr. was born in March of 1850. His parents were George W. Maxfield Sr. and M.E. ( Banks) Maxfield. He had six brothers: Robert, Gershom, Samuel, John, Richard, and Charles. He also had five sisters: Margaret, Louisa, Clara, Mary and Anna. In 1859 they traveled west and spent a year in Salt Lake City. When they arrived in California they stayed in Liberty for one year and then stayed for three years at the Charles Price place. Following that they moved to their final home in Sheldon, California. There, George Maxfield Sr. died on October 14th ,1872. Following that George Jr. helped his mother with the farm. George Maxfield Jr. died on January 2, 1892. He was 41 years, 10 months, and 16 days old.
