Chris C. Jacobsen was born in 1882. He came to Sacramento at the turn of the century.He worked in the county Sealer of Weights and Measures office. Later, he was a Sacramento municipal employee as a truck driver and a watchman. Chris Charles Jacobsen was a city employee for 20 years. He was married to Georgia E. Jacobsen. He had lived in Garden Valley, El Dorado County for the 20 years preceding his death. He was 75 years old at the time of his death.

Julia Jacobsen was the daughter of Georgia and Chris Jacobsen. She died at the age of 5 years. According to a newspaper article she was a victim of measles and pneumonia. She was brought to the hospital along with her mother and 4 brothers and sisters all suffering with measles. She died several hours after they arrived. According to the article it was thought that everyone else would survive. However, two days later her mother, Georgia Jacobsen also died.

According to Julia Jacobsen's obituary, Chris and Georgia had six other children as well:
