Emil Hitke was born in Germany. He left with his family when he was 15 or 16 years old. He settled in Elk Grove with his wife on what is now Carmencita Road. Emil Hitke worked as a farmer.

His wife had been married before and had 6 children. Their last names were "BEHM". We have found out four of these children's names.

After Mrs. Behm married Emil Hitke, they had three children. Their names were:
