Henry was born in Germany. At the time his last name was Von Briggman. This was changed to BRICKMAN when he entered Russia with his parents.

He married Elizabeth in Russia and they had two children. Around 1904 he and his wife and children came to America by a boat. Elizabeth told her children that Henry had been sick the entire trip. They came to the California Vineyards. They had a total of 12 children. Two died as infants and one (Emma) died at the age 18. In 1906 Henry purchased land on California Vineyard Raod (now Calvine). This land was 50 acres on the south side of Calvine Road between Bradshaw and Bader. He also had 30 acres on the north side of Calvine and east of Carmencita. The ranch was called "The Pride of the Valley Ranch". In September, 1910 he became a United States citizen. Henry died on New Years Eve in 1925 of a hemorrhage and a stroke.

Elizabeth Brickman

Elizabeth now had nine children that were still living. She had 80 acres. She had to sell some of this land during the "Depression" in order to make ends meet. She kept 30 acres that were bounded by Calvine and Bader. She picked walnuts on her land to pay the taxes on the property. Elizabeth died in 1937 of a sun stroke. Elizabeth was married again prior to her death. According to the California Death Index, her name was Elizabeth Krammerer.
