Career Day 2008 Provides Important Employment Information
Local businesses, educators and agencies brought job opportunities and job seeking advice on May 16 to Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) students. Career Day 2008 offered students of Leo A. Palmiter Junior-Senior High School and Elinor Lincoln Hickey Junior-Senior High School the chance to meet prospective employers and learn about job-hunting techniques, as well as how to access post-secondary education.
"Career Day offers teenagers the opportunity to see possibilities that they never knew were possible," said Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools David W. Gordon. "We are grateful to all of the local companies for their enthusiasm in working with our students."

Career Day, spearheaded by Workability/SCOE's Success Center Team, is one of several employment-focused activities being planned for students of the two schools. The Success Center, established in conjunction with SCOE's LINKS program, provides students direct connections from school to the world of employment, job training, and college.
