Sacramento County Art Students Honored

Artwork on Display at SCOE Headquarters
On March 14, 2007, the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) hosted an awards presentation and exhibit reception for students from throughout the county.
Nearly 70 pieces of artwork were submitted for the art show. Each entrant received a certificate for their participation. On hand to honor the students and award certificates were Sacramento County Board of Education trustees Elinor Lincoln Hickey and Gretchen Bender, along with Sacramento County Superintendent of Schools David W. Gordon.
The exhibit, part of a Youth Arts Month commemoration, was sponsored by the Sacramento County Office of Education in conjunction with the California Arts Education Association (CAEA).
Schools participating in the exhibit include:
- Bella Vista High School (San Juan Unified School District)
- Carson Creek High School (Sacramento County Office of Education)
- Cordova Gardens Elementary (Folsom Cordova Unified School District)
- Delta High School (River Delta Unified)
- Elinor Lincoln Hickey Junior/Senior High School (Sacramento County Office of Education)
- Galt High School (Galt Join Union High School District)
- Inderkum High School (Natomas Unified School District)
- Legette Elementary (San Juan Unified School District)
- Loretto High School (Catholic Diocese of Sacramento)
- Mills Middle School (Folsom Cordova Unified School District)
- Mira Loma High School (San Juan Unified School District)
- Ottoman Elementary (San Juan Unified School District)
- Sheldon High School (Elk Grove Unified School District)
- Will C. Wood High School (Vacaville Unified School District)
The colorful art display will be available for public viewing at SCOE's David P. Meaney Education Center during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) until the beginning of May.
