Don't know a videoconference from a Webcast? Have a great idea for using technology, but aren't sure how to make it happen? The Sacramento County Office of Education has staff available to assist. The new Internet and Media Services (IMS) Department Web site provides explanations of technology-related terms and applications, samples of IMS projects, and overviews of what's involved in producing multimedia and technology projects.

The Internet and Media Services Department (previously known as Educational Internet Technologies) is made up of a team of educators, designers, artists and programmers who create exciting Web, video, and computer-based learning and communication experiences. The IMS Department Web site includes sections devoted to Webcasts, videoconferences, Web sites, online databases, video production, streaming, and satellite reception.

IMS is available to help educational, nonprofit and governmental organizations explore opportunities for utilizing technology as a resource. For more information or a fee schedule, contact IMS: (916) 228-2636 or mholt@scoe.net.
