Her supervisor says, "Terri is a great role model for substitute employees and less experienced para-educators. Their skills are often enhanced by working with her." Ms. Derrington builds relationships among children with and without disabilities in the classroom. Concludes her supervisor, "Teri is able to provide just what a child needs in order to be successful." Ms. Derrington received the Sharon Neese Professional Development Award at the Northern California Early Childhood Education Conference in 2006. With a school program that is open 244 days a year, and that enrolls and dis-enrolls over 2,500 students each year, school staff rely upon Ms. Green and Ms. Williams for their respective abilities to coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude. Their many contributions enable school staff to better serve the high-risk student population at El Centro Jr./Sr. High School. Ms. Green has been employed by the Sacramento County Office of Education since January 2008. Ms. Williams has been a Sacramento County Office of Education employee since May 2007.
