January 2007 Employees of the Month

The Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) is one of 58 county offices located throughout the state. Approximately 700 full-time and more than 2,500 part-time SCOE staff work year-round providing services which complement and supplement those offered by public school districts in the County of Sacramento. Over 230,000 K-12 students are served by public schools in Sacramento County.

January 2007 Classified Employee of the Month

Allyse Petrini, an Infant Educator, was nominated by Infant Development Program Director Gary Scott Johnson for her contributions to the Special Education Department of the Sacramento County Office of Education. Ms. Petrini is a 26-year employee within SCOE's Special Education Department, the past 21 as an Infant Educator with the Infant Development Program. Ms. Petrini is known as a highly skilled educator who possesses a wealth of information on typical and atypical child development. Her supervisor says, "Allyse is an exemplary model of how to successfully offer support to families and their child during home visits. She is insightful in understanding the unique dynamics of the family, and she is non-judgmental in her approach. She is thoughtful in how she explains information to the families she serves. Her grace, humor and true caring nature are always evident. As stated by one parent whose child benefited from Allyce's teaching, 'I always wanted her to come back to visit.'" Ms. Petrini has been employed by the Sacramento County Office of Education since February 1980.

January 2007 Certificated Employee of the Month

Yuuko Feletto, a nurse, was nominated by Infant Development Program Director Gary Scott Johnson for her contributions to the Special Education Department of the Sacramento County Office of Education. Ms. Feletto provides nursing consultation and support to families and children receiving early intervention services from SCOE's Infant Development Program. She is a staunch advocate for families, working closely with medical professionals to ensure that SCOE students with health issues receive care and that families are supported in this area. Ms. Feletto is highly regarded for her ability to translate technical and complex medical terminology into information that families can more readily understand. Her supervisor says, "Yuuko's open and non-judgmental style ensures a positive and productive relationship between staff and families. She is a valuable asset to our Infant Program. She deserves the highest praise for her open and honest commitment and her compassion in helping others." Ms. Feletto has been employed by the Sacramento County Office of Education since December 1998.
