Program Philosophy

C.E.I.D. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing an exemplary program of intensive and comprehensive early intervention services to young children between the ages of birth and five years old who have hearing losses or severe speech/language delays and their families.

What is Offered

Total Communication approach (spoken English, hearing aids, Signing Exact English)
Individual and small group speech and auditory training sessions
Home visits
Specially designed classes for children - 12 months to 5 years old
Sunshine Preschool/Child Care -all day inclusive child care
Thematic active learning, curriculum and teaching strategies
Speech therapy computers, FM systems, Cochlear Implants
Speech “aerobics” activities
Parent support group meetings & family sign language classes
Family advocacy training/weekend workshops
Community outreach and training (medical providers, Early Start case managers and child care providers)
Consultation to medical professionals and educators
Coordination of services with other agencies
Fundraising strategies/Board of Directors

On-Site Services

Who You Will Meet

Teachers (credentialed Teachers of the Deaf), Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapist, Parents, Mental Health Specialist, Teacher Aides, Pediatrician and Children

When Site Is Available For Visits

Monday - Friday /9:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon
(on-site observations of children)
Monday - Friday/9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
(staff discussion, consultation and inclusive child care)
Monday, Wednesday, Friday/ by appointment
(audiology)

Number Of Visitors At One Time

Groups of two to four.
